All Mountain Mints produce an abundant amount of nectar that attracts most pollinators, and Slender Mountain Mint is no exception. What sets it apart, however, is its finer, needle-like foliage that doesn't have the same strong aroma as other Mountain Mint species. But that doesn't discourage pollinators from visiting its copious amounts of flowers to enjoy its nectar. This species doesn't have showy bracts like that of P. incanum or P. muticum, but the flowers themselves are a more striking white, especially set against the lush, verdant green foliage. This species handles drier soils and a range of sunlight conditions, from full sun to part shade.

Every pollinator garden should have at least one species of Mountain Mint, as they are a valuable food source for bees, wasps, native flies, butterflies, and other insects. Even though they can aggressively spread via rhizomes, the roots are shallow and easy to pull, making them easy to control. They are also great choices for larger meadow-style plantings.
